The 1st post after arriving here.

Packing for this trip was somehow irritating but fun. Overthrow my baggage and packing stuffs back in 5-7 times before the trip. i've underestimated 20kg, which wasn't enough for me. Fortunately at the last moment i upgraded  for another 5kg. on the 11th night of february, i couldn't sleep well. Not exactly nervous, but just cannot get myself into coma. Ate Mac at budget terminal for breakfast with my family after checking in my baggage (24.3kg). Board the plane at about 7.15am. The flight journey was 2 hours.

We checked into this hotel quite near our school, rate USD 7 per night. It was bad. The neighboring shops are restaurants, motorcars garage and 'Haji Lane'. Every night after our meals, we walked past the shops where a line of girls sitting/standing in Vietnamese traditional costumes waiting for customers to take them. I must say their figure are GOOD. They have slim waistline, reasonably tall and beautiful features. Restaurants around the hotel are mainly serving Jap food but are quite expensive. We stayed for 8 days before we moved out...

..to our house! The rent for the current house i am in is USD1200 per month. The contract states we have to stay here for 6 months. This is a 5 story house with 1 room on the 2nd level, 2 rooms on the 3rd and 4th level, 1 room on the 5th level. I got to stay in a single room, which is smaller than the double room. Anyway the rent is 1.2 times more then the double room but at least i can have a place on my own! =) Gotten the internet up but www.facebook.com could not be accessed. NTU VPN hates my computer and thus i have no  access to facebook. Only when miracle happens will u see me online and able to upload pictures on fb. Last week was a busy week as we went around shopping for stuffs for this empty home. Decided not to buy washing machine as the laundry service is super cheap and it's just behind our house. Fridge, cooking facilities, bowls, utensils, cooking ingredients, toilet stuffs, bed, room items etc, we bought them in 2-3 days. Spent the whole freaking day cleaning up the thick layer of dust from the room and the house. My legs muscle cramp after that hectic day. Now the room is clean, simple and comfortable. Only and only if facebook could be easily accessible for me. Departmental stalls are close to our house, and cabs are still quite readily available.

Today, 3th of March, i had my Vietnamese language test in the afternoon. It was relatively simple. I slightly screwed up the oral test though, but overall i think should be able to pass. To think back, it was quite fun learning a language as a class and fun people. More of getting used to the language before learning get simpler. I think i am so going to miss the fun and funny times learning viet together, the 10 of us.

Tried various food here. Mostly vietnamese food. I've spent about USD1800 for 3 months house rent, buying house stuffs, eating, cabbing and visiting etc, so far. Fortunately for the award the school gave us, S$6640, otherwise i will have to eat grass from the street. Anyway i will start my industrial attachment next week, on the 7th of March 2011. According to hearsay, the company which i will be working for is 20 mins from home, means i will have to wake up at 7am everyday, Monday to Friday. I hope to be able to get a motorcycle to pillion me to and from work everyday. Save me the money and time for a long run. Hope to get a rate of 250k VND per month to send me to and fro from work everyday.

Have been coughing for the past week. Ate much medicine but i guess it is the air that i am not used to. The air is dusty as compared to the air in Singapore, maybe the food and water. So far we had been eating meat as we are abit rejectful to the vegetable, not that it is inedible, but it is that we are just wanting tasty food. A bunch of spoiled Singaporean kids but who cares... hahaha.... let me reover ASAP please!!
