I am starting to miss home. In Vietnam, i became a different person. A much quieter person. Maybe i do not understand and speak their language as fluent. Often i mingle with the people who i know well and only talk less than 10 sentence to Vietnamese. They are helpful and nice people, guess it's lazy i don't want to talk. I don't want to waste time.

Went to Mekong Delta last weekend. This time, we travel by another tour agency. We depart from ho chi minh at 8:40am and arrived in My Tho (town of M.D) at around 10:40am. We took a ferry to the 3 island, Dragon, phoenix, tortoise. On arrival in the 1st island, we were told to transfer to a smaller boat which it will bring us into smaller lanes. On transferring to the boat, there was this young ang-mo boy, around 4 years old, he was sitting in the small boat with his father beside him. A sudden scream from him when the small boat slide pass each other. His hands was unknowingly placed side of the boat. Blood goosed out from his 4th and 5th fingers. He kept screaming and crying. His mum tried to stop the blood and gush the wound with water. After his fingernail on the 4th finger fell of, they decided to send him to the hospital. The atmosphere around the tour group after that was still. Anyway the small boat brought us sight-seeing of houses and forest nearby the waters and we ended up in the coconut candy production factory. It was a small factory with less than 10 workers. Equipments used were very basic and each coconut candy had to be individually wrapped up by human. We bought 2 packs of candy and off to the lunch island. Suppose it was an island is mend for lunch for tourist? The lunch provided was pathetic, 2 small spring roll (Shorter than your last finger), rice and 1 serving of veg. We ordered steam fish and that was really great and fresh. VND140 (S$8.50) for a 1kg fish. After lunch, the injured boy and his family joined us for the tour. We went to bee farm after that. Bees honey were sold and photo taking with snakes. And this sums up the 1 day tour as we headed to Can Tho. A 1 star hotel.

Reached Can Tho at 6pm and ate dinner at a shop beside our hotel. Too hungry to walk further. Anyway it was drizzling. No one on the street is holding on to an umbrella, so different from Singapore. Dry weather here perhaps. Woke up at 7.15am to a disappointing breakfast - 1 banh mi, 1 slice of cheese and 1 cup of drink. Off to the floating market after that. A must visit place, it is so different. However, the tour guide says it's something like thailand floating market. Well, never been there so i cannot compare. Sticks pointing to the sky displaying the goods sold on individual boats and the way they hook to your boat and prepare the drinks u bought, it is really different from the norm. Visited the rice noodles factory and a wet market near the river too. Tour ends after that. Reached back in HCMC 6.30pm. There goes my weekend...
