Staring at my blog for a few minutes. Pondering if i should update any post. Nothing special or memorable to post anyway. During the holidays, i took up 2 students. Primary 1 boy, rising my blood pressure every lesson, a super playful boy. Secondary 1 boy, from china, quite hardworking as he is going to sit for the direct admission thingy by the MOE to sec 2 this year. Other than teaching tuition and church on Sundays, basically i have no other place to go. oh yes, did met up some friends for dinner, movie and shopping.
Registered for a overseas work and study program, Global Immersion Program (GIP), few days ago. Hope it will be successful. Feeling bored in Singapore and i want something different! Recalling the company I've been attached to during my polytechnic education, I mood and anticipation disappear. A bad experience. I would say, it is a company of scam. Employ interns to do the work as you can never get someone to work full-time on the job. Paid like peanuts. Treated like cheap labor. Because of the grades, interns have no choice but to put up with the nonsense. Simply put, the depend on interns from various polytechnics and ITEs to operate. Many slip shorts and dishonesty to the client.
Recently, i was informed of friends getting engaged or having the intention to be engaged soon. The news struck me at first. Has the time arrived whereby i will be receiving many wedding invitations from friends who are once my classmates? Come to think of it, getting engaged at 22, is it normal or a little too early? Can one be financial stable to start a family? it is not a situation of shot-gun at all. The reason behind all of them so far was because of housing. Putting heavily in love with your partner aside. Is there news saying that flats are going to be leaping soon? or is there news saying that the government is no longer going to build new houses in future? Yes you all might have dated a long time, might have overcome many situations but my focus is still financial. To buy a new flat, to renovate and furnitures cost approximately 500k. A simple wedding reception cost 15k. Honeymoon cost 10k. Maybe a car 80k. I am curious, if you are going to start so soon, are your parents going to foot some of your-family-starting scheme? Bank loan interest will be rolling. Another question, what if a baby comes within a year of marriage, tell me if you have no intention of having babies in future. A diploma graduate, what is your pay? Yes you can definitely survive, do the both of you have any intention to upgrade. Come on people, face the reality. Petrol, daily expenditure, loans, $$ for parents, children's education...use LOVE to fill their hunger?
