So this marks the end of my study life. Studied for the past 20 years and finally, i am out to work. A little excited, a little fearful. The feeling is not the same as going for an attachment. Being an attachment student, you know that not much responsibility is required on your part. Sometimes you do things wrongly, sometimes you play around, everyone will always be lenient and forgiving towards you. Doing temporary assignments, you know you will leave soon. Sometimes greater responsibility is expected but when there is fault, no one will blame you. It is optional for you to leave a good impression or have tight relationship with your colleagues.
Now, the first official career in my life. Not something that i can expect, neither is it anything which i had studied before. It is new. And i mean NEW. Nothing of my engineering, minimal relations to environment. Human and Human psychological, being like a detective, a problem solver and a peace maker. For all my life, i had never had any experience working as a investigator or under someone doing investigating works. What to expect, how to do, what to say, what to observe and why is that action... i don't know. In every career, it is best to have great colleagues and working team. However, again, this is a new department. I know they are looking for people into the department. I know there is a boss, with no other people except me in the department. Honestly, looking in the face of your boss everyday makes be feel stressful. How is my boss working style, character, limits and expectation is still unknown. What about colleagues? i have no colleagues. I wonder when will my other 2 colleagues join NEA. I hope and pray for good boss, fun colleagues, comfortable working environment, good growing space and suitability for the post. May my journey with NEA be a joyful and smooth from beginning to the end.
